A fine dining experience in a setting that recalls upscale restaurants of another era. But with one big difference. This is an environmentally conscious restaurant, where locally sourced provisions drive the menu through the seasons.

The preparations are uncomplicated, allowing the quality of the meats, fish, poultry and produce to shine through.

A wonderful assortment of pates and charcuteries top the dinner menu. Soups and salads are solid precursors to a parade of lamb, beef, pork, chicken, duck and fish dishes to satisfy any palate or mood. There’s a “farm to the table” menu of the day. A carefully balanced selection of specialty cheeses or any of several interesting desserts round out the experience.

The room is warm yet elegant and welcoming and the staff is helpful and attentive.

Then there are the views. The Inn and restaurant are perched on the bluffs overlooking the Pacific, where sunsets can cause one to linger outside before dinner from spring to fall. The day time views of the Pacific vista are spectacular all year ‘round.

And if you happen to be a golfer, this was the site of the 2008 U.S. Open. There are two 18-hole courses available if you are inclined toward a couple of days of resort living.
